Oh Man.

Check out my new baby. Only $64.99 at Macy*s after all the smoking deals. It's a good thing I'm going camping this weekend or we might be eating pesto, pastries, and graham-cracker crust tasties all weekend long. As it is, I can hardly stand making something that doesn't require it's immediate use.

Since I'm also trying to prove it's worth to my skeptics, please leave a comment and let me know what your favorite thing is to make in your food processor. So long, 1 1/2 cup Cheftmate- Hello, Cuisinart!

  2. Italian White Bean dip. I used Giada's recipe and it doesn't last very long in my house...

  4. Oh, you're going to love it! We use ours for pesto (all sorts of flavors, not just basil) -- pie crust dough -- grinding up hard cheeses like Parmesan or Romano -- biscuit or scone dough -- making chunky purees out of things like roasted red peppers or canned tomatos -- grinding or fine-chopping nuts ...

I've heard you can use it to make bread dough too.

Don't get rid of your mini-processor, though, it's great for times when you only want to process a very small amount of something. I speak from experience here. Experience of putting away the mini-processor and then having to search for it...

  5. Ok so I just looked at your blog and holy smokes it might get me into some serious trouble with my trainer!! It all looks so yummy! You made me want to pull out my food processor and make something yummy. I haven't used mine for very much lately, but I use to make all my baby food with it. You made me remember that I did love that thing! Time to get cooking!!!

  6. You're going to love your food processor. I love making zucchini bread with mine. The zucchini shreds, literally, in an instant. I also haven't chopped an onion by hand (I'm a crier) since I got mine. Enjoy it!

  7. Anne! Tell me how I can get a food processor for 69 dollars! We are in desperate need of one too! In fact, it's next on our kitchen gadget shopping list.

  8. Thanks for the great suggestions everyone! I've never thought of making some of those things in one (Homemade baby food, way to go Nicky!)

Lonica- this one was on sale for $89 (a good price on it's own) and we had a $25 off one-day sale coupon to top it off. So it was kind of a quick decision, but I knew it was too good of a deal to pass up!

  9. A food processor is a great tool. I use it to shred blocks of cheese for pizza on fridays. I leave mine out all the time.
To justify kitchen purchases to hubby I point out how much he saves on restaurants as I like to make everything myself. Dinner for two with drinks is easily more expensive than your new toy. You are saving money!
