This week's Tuesdays with Dorie to start the year was chosen by Dorie Greenspan herself! The French Pear Tart features a delicious almond cream, soft, flavorful pears, and a crisp crust. It's easy to make, thanks to a food processor, and extra delicious. With almonds, canned pears, and a jam glaze- I already had everything in my cupboard. Now that's a great dessert.
Don't forget to stop by Dorie's site for the recipe and other beautiful photos and amazing recipes. While you're there, grab some hot chocolate, a slice of this beautiful tart, and imagine yourself in Paris. This tart is that good.
What a great looking tart, Anne, well done!

It looks spectacular, Anne -- I LOVE how you fanned your pears! I bet it was amazing with a jam glaze. And your photos are worthy of a cookbook themselves!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty, Anne. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your tart looks, Anne. My plan was to add the jam glaze also, but I plumb forgot. Nice pear fanning!

I wish there was some of ours left! This is one recipe I had to let Grumpy have more than I had of it!
ReplyDeleteDrat.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did I miss the jam glaze.
Gorgeous pear fanning you got there. I totally have to try this one again with canned pears. Poaching the pears made them kinda mushy for me so I wasn't a huge fan of the poached pears. Love how the jam glaze makes the pears glisten! Glad you enjoyed the recipe!

ReplyDeleteAnne, it's me again. Just wanted to mention that most of my tart pans - most of my bakeware in general actually - comes from Marshall's or TJ Maxx. I've bought springform pans, cookie sheets, silicone mats, you name it. All pretty cheap.
